Sunny, 43°F. It was a busy morning so I didn't get out until the afternoon. In view of the limited time before dusk, I decided not to travel far and just do one of the local multicaches. I went for Pointing North-NorthPoint. It's a two-stage multicache with both stages just off a paved walking path in the woods behind a residential area northeast of Newark. It was easier and quicker than I thought. Since I still had plenty of time, I headed west to White Clay Creek State Park for a few more geocaches.

In White Clay Creek Park, I parked at Bryan's Field and did If you see a Fairy Ring, Zeros #00, and Sig Item Bonanza. All three geocaches are accessible from the same parking area but the round trip is approximately a 2-mile hike. That didn't take too much time though because I found all 3 caches without much searching and so it was mostly walking time.

Sunny and 85-90°F. Somewhat hotter than the day before but didn't feel that bad because of the breeze. I tackled "InRoot to Delcastle", which is in a wild area of Mill Creek Park. I admit I only went for this cache because I was curious as to how challenging the bushwhack would be. The area is overgrown with brush and gets flooded from time to time. Well surprisingly, it wasn't that bad. Although covered in vegetation, there was an old logging road and a few deer trails. The water level in the creek was very low today and the cache itself was in a rather open area.

After that, I went to Paper Mill Park and the Paper Mill Connector Trail. Now, this is a power trail. I kept my automotive GPS in my pocket and it beeped every 0.1 of a mile or so when I got close to a geocache. Beep and find, beep and find, couldn't be easier or faster. Two of the geocaches on the Paper Mill Connector were from the puzzles I worked on at home. ("PMC Lite Iscohedron" and "Engineers Puzzle") After I was done with Paper Mill Park, I crossed the busy road into White Clay Creek State Park. That's a wilder area. I crossed a field of knee-high grass into a jungle-like area with a barely-discernible trail leading to "Upscale Dam Trolls Pot of Gold". That's probably just a herd path leading to the dam, not an official trail. Official trails in that area seem to be mostly 10-foot-wide mowed paths in the field.

Cloudy and 77°F. It wasn't as hot as yesterday and it was a bit breezy. Since the weather was good, I felt like going for a few longer walks. First stop was in New Garden at the Laurel Wood Trail for an easy 1-mile round trip. Then I went to the Landenberg section of White Clay Creek Preserve. There were caches on both sides of Yeatman Station Road so I hiked up one side first. Then I went back to where I parked and hiked the other side. That was probably about 3 miles but I can't be sure since the part of the trail that followed the stream was very curvy. Biggest challenge of the day was "Groovy Rock". This cache is on the opposite side of the stream so I removed my socks and shoes, rolled up my pants, and waded across the stream. The water temperature was just fine. I only had to be careful not to step on sharp rocks in the stream bed.

After I was done with the White Clay Creek geocaches, I headed over to Kennett Square and Pocopson for a bunch of quick (relatively speaking. Not so much walking but "D R Cache #4" took some looking around to find.) geocaches to round out the day.
