Rainy afternoon, so I thought I'd go to the art museum for a geocache. I went for DGT Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts in Wilmington, not far from home. It's a two-stage cache with the first stage, a micro, outside the museum and the final stage, an ammo can, inside the museum. Admission was free and the museum is full of quirky sculptures. I logged the cache online right there and then at their little internet cafe. After that, I went for Dravo Marsh and CAPTAIN AMERICA since those two weren't far from the first cache. So art and geocaching made for a nice afternoon despite the rain.

In the evening, I went to Delaware Furbowl X. It was a decent-sized furmeet. More than 40 of us met up at Charcoal Pit in Wilmington for dinner. I only knew a few people there at first but I got to know more names and faces as the evening went on. I had the pub battered haddock. Then we went to the bowling alley just down the road. I brought my raccoon fursuit (which I'd packed for this Delaware trip purely on a whim) so I bowled two games in fursuit. Given my non-existent bowling ability, especially while in costume, I was amazed I picked up a spare once. Hung around a bit after the game and then went home.

I'm glad I made it to this meet. It was a lot of fun and a great way to spend the evening. In the 14 years I lived in North Jersey, I rarely went to furmeets but here I am, attending my first DE furmeet before even properly moving to the area! I guess that's the difference between living 10 minutes away and living over an hour away from the meet. I must say proximity does make it a lot easier to be there.
