70-80°F and rainy. Utility workers were out on my street pouring concrete this morning. I asked them if they were sure it was a good day to do that because it looked like rain to me. (and in fact, it was drizzling while I asked them that) They said it wasn't supposed to rain. Guess what? It did rain. But I went geocaching in Lancaster anyway. Lancaster County was hit hard by the storm. There were lots of downed tree branches on the roads and some roads were closed because of flooding and washed-out bridges. I helped clear tree branches from one of the backroads because that was easier than driving all the way around for 5 miles to get to the cache site from the other direction. The rain stopped at around 3pm, so I did have a few hours of sunny weather before it started raining again at 7:45pm, when it was pretty much time for dinner anyway.
I geocached mostly in urban Lancaster City during the worst part of the rain. There were some new caches and a few older ones that I left out on previous trips. After that, I moved on to a series of 5 caches along a bike path in Lancaster. There was a place to park near each of those caches, so I didn't have to walk very far in the rain. Once the rain had stopped, I went over to Millersville, a town with an interesting collection of caches, mostly on the Millersville University campus. Fortunately, it's now their summer break, so parking was easy and there was hardly anyone around on campus.
