On Sunday, I went to the 2007 LIGO Summer event in the picnic area of West Hills County Park in Melville out on Long Island. For a few reasons, I had some misgivings about attending but none of my concerns were realized so everything went well. Anyway, it was a nice little event, although considering that it was the main picnic event out on Long Island, I was surprised that it wasn't a lot more crowded. There was a gigantic roast at the picnic. The crispy skin was the best part, even if it was fattening.
After the picnic lunch, I went and did some geocaches, returning to the picnic to get more water. In the evening, I headed further East to Smithtown and Lake Grove to get some easy geocaches after dark. I was planning to go to Flushing Chinatown for dinner because parking is free on Sundays, but I wasn't hungry so I returned home directly.
