Lancaster XXI - 3R Challenge, Puzzle Day
Aug. 30th, 2010 03:01 amSunny, 90-95°F. Just when you thought the weather was getting autumnal, summer returns! My first goal of the day was to seek "3R Challenge". This geocache is pretty hard (or inconvenient, rather) to get to because that location is open only during a 4-hour window each Sunday and only for half a year. Until today, I was never in that area on a Sunday and the last few Sundays were rainy. So today, I made a point to get there early in the afternoon. It's a scenic view spot overlooking the Lanchester Landfill in Narvon, PA. Well, maybe that's not such a good thing to look at but in that part of Pennsylvania, almost anything can be scenic.
After that, I went to Leola and Lititz to find the puzzle caches that I solved a week ago. Then I got distracted by a bunch of geocaches in Lititz. After I did those, I got back on track and headed to Reamstown to find the last puzzle cache on my list. Dinner was breaded fish at LJS in Lancaster. I thought I'd try taking the US-30 route home but there was still road construction! The work has taken months but hopefully, they'll finish the final stretch of repaving soon. And oh, now they're starting on Route 41. I hope not too many people use the 30/41 route for commuting. The traffic delays were horrible this season.
( The caches... )
