Newark Reservoir and beyond
Aug. 5th, 2010 03:09 amSunny and 90-95°F. The rain in the weather forecast didn't materialize so after finishing up some things I needed to do at home, I went for a long walk around the Newark Reservoir for First Dam Cache. There are no trees at the top of the reservoir so it was hot and I was glad to duck into the woods for the cache. Redd Park is adjacent to the reservoir, so after finding "First Dam Cache", I continued through the woods towards Seeing Redd.
After the long hike, I was in the mood to tackle a tricky roadside cache, so I went for Every Nook, Cranny and hole too. Parking on the side of Paper Mill Road during rush hour traffic was dicey but I saw an open gate and driveway leading to a maintenance building a short distance away so I parked there and walked to the cache site. I thought this search would take a while so I was surprised that I spotted the tiny cache in just a few seconds.
