Went to Orange County (plus a bit of Ulster County) for the second day in a row because I go where the geocaches are. No rain today and the temperature was up to 80°F. The only disconcerting thing today was finding out that the four geocaches from "Oguk's Tower Treasure II" to "Lake View" may have inadvertently been placed on private property. I only found out about that on the way out because one of the neighbors told me. It's a gravel road and wooded area with no signage and we do know that the locals go in and out of that area all the time, so we never thought there could be a problem. Darn. I'll leave it up to the cache owners to find out whether we can geocache there, but I won't return to that area until I'm sure.

The only other problem was with Merlot - Hudson Valley Wine Trail. While I was looking, two ladies from the winery who happened to be walking by told me that the cache had gone missing. I actually hate that most of the geocaches in the wine trail series appear to have been placed without permission of the winery owners but in this case, the winery folks were cool about the idea. They were amused that people were wandering into their property to look for this cache. Too bad it's not there any more.

Returned home for dinner because I wasn't optimistic about being able to find anything I liked in Orange County after 9pm on Sunday night.

The caches... )
